These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between El Anillo Rent Car and our customers. We recommend reading them carefully before confirming your reservation, as by doing so you accept them in full.
01 Purpose and Acceptance
These Terms & Conditions govern the motor vehicle rental agreement between El Anillo Rent Card, S.R.L. (the "Lessor") and the customer (the "Renter"). By confirming a reservation and/or signing the rental agreement, the customer declares that they have read, understood, and accepted these terms, as well as our privacy, security, delivery, returns, and cancellation policies.
02 Driver Requirements
- Minimum age: 21 years. Some premium categories require 25 years or older.
- Valid driver's license. For foreign drivers, the license from their country of origin is accepted during the period authorized for tourists.
- Valid identity document or passport.
- Credit or debit card in the driver's name for the security deposit.
03 Additional Drivers
Only persons registered and authorized in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Every additional driver must meet the same requirements and present their documentation at the time of signing.
04 Rates, Currency, and Payment
Rates are agreed upon at the time of booking. Prices shown in U.S. dollars (USD) are for the convenience of the international traveler; the charge is processed in Dominican Pesos (RD$ / DOP) at the prevailing exchange rate, or in your card's home currency when you use the dynamic currency conversion (DCC) option. All rates are subject to the 18% Tax on the Transfer of Industrialized Goods and Services (ITBIS), in accordance with Dominican law.
05 Security Deposit
Upon receiving the vehicle, a refundable security deposit is held, according to the vehicle category:

The deposit is a temporary hold that is released after the vehicle is returned under the agreed conditions, unless there are damages, missing items, or outstanding charges.
06 Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
El Anillo Rent Car does not sell insurance. We offer collision damage waiver (CDW) plans that limit the amount for which you would be liable in the event of damage to the vehicle, backed by our fleet policy. The customer chooses their coverage level:

The collision damage waiver is not an insurance contract under the terms of Law No. 146-02. It is a contractual limitation of liability backed by the company's policy.
07 Fuel and Mileage
- Fuel: full-to-full policy. The vehicle is delivered with a full tank and must be returned at the same level.
- Mileage: unlimited, within the territory of the Dominican Republic.
08 Use of the Vehicle
The Renter agrees to:
- Drive the vehicle responsibly and in accordance with Law No. 63-17 on Mobility, Land Transportation, Traffic, and Road Safety.
- Not drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or substances that impair their ability.
- Not sublet, assign, or use the vehicle for unlawful purposes, competitions, or unauthorized paid transportation.
- Not take the vehicle out of the national territory or drive on unsuitable terrain, except for vehicles enabled for this purpose and with express authorization.
- Allow driving only by the drivers authorized in the agreement.
09 Grace Period
A grace period of sixty (60) minutes over the agreed return time is granted. After this period, the charge corresponding to an additional rental day may apply.
10 Damage, Accidents, and Theft
In the event of an accident, third-party damage, or theft, the Renter must immediately notify El Anillo Rent Car and the competent authorities (DIGESETT / National Police) and obtain the corresponding police report, an essential requirement for processing any claim. Upon returning the vehicle, a joint inspection will be carried out to determine its condition.
11 Fines and Traffic Violations
The Renter is responsible for all fines, traffic violations, tolls, and penalties incurred during the rental period. Such charges may be deducted from the security deposit or billed to the customer when received after the return.
12 Renter's Liability
The Renter is responsible for the care of the vehicle during the rental period and for any damage not covered by the contracted liability reduction plan, up to the corresponding deductible limit, as well as for the loss of accessories, documents, or vehicle keys.
13 Data Protection
The processing of the customer's personal data is carried out in accordance with Law No. 172-13 and is detailed in our Privacy Policy, available on this website.
14 Tax Receipts
El Anillo Rent Car issues the corresponding electronic tax receipts (e-CF) in accordance with Law No. 32-23 and the provisions of the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII).
15 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, including the Civil Code regarding leasing, Law No. 358-05 on Consumer Protection, Law No. 63-17 on Mobility and Road Safety, and Law No. 126-02 on Electronic Commerce, Documents, and Digital Signatures. For any dispute, the parties submit exclusively to the jurisdiction of the ordinary courts of Higüey, La Altagracia.
