The calculator uses the exact rates, protection levels, delivery rules and deposits loaded in our booking engine. If you reserve online, the engine will show the same total before any payment.
Daily rate. The price of the vehicle class per day. It drops automatically on longer rentals: from day 5 the daily rate is lower, and it keeps dropping at 9, 14 and 30 days (up to 25% off per day on rentals of a month or more). The calculator shows the rate that applies to your number of days.
Protection (CDW). Collision damage waiver, in three levels. Basic and Standard carry a deductible that depends on the vehicle class (for example US$1,000 / US$400 on an Economy, US$2,000 / US$700 on a compact SUV); Premium has zero deductible. From day 7 the CDW also costs less per day. CDW does not cover glass, tires or wheels: those are separate protections, or everything together in the Full Package (Premium CDW + glass + tires). Liability insurance for third parties is already included with every vehicle and is not something you buy.
Delivery and pickup. Free to your hotel, villa, Airbnb or the Punta Cana airport on rentals of 3 days or more; a flat US$50 + tax round trip on 1–2 day rentals. Pickup at our office in Higüey is always free. Deliveries to Santo Domingo, Santiago or other cities are quoted on WhatsApp.
ITBIS tax (18%). The Dominican sales tax, applied to the daily rate and the protection. It is in the total you see here, not added later.
Refundable deposit. A temporary hold on your credit or debit card, not a charge: US$500 on Economy, Sedan and compact or 7-seat SUVs, US$800 on premium SUVs, pickups and vans, US$1,500 on the luxury SUVs and US$2,000 on the Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 AMG. The classic Punta Cana complaint: a very low daily rate on a comparison site, then at the counter a "mandatory insurance" that was not in the price, tax, an airport fee, a young-driver fee, a fuel charge and a deposit hold far larger than expected. None of it is illegal; it is simply not shown until you are standing there with your suitcases.
Our rule is the opposite: the number you see is the number you pay. The calculator and the booking engine include the daily rate, the protection level you choose, delivery and the 18% tax, and they tell you the deposit hold and the deductible before you confirm. Whoever you rent from, ask for those four things in writing: total with tax and protection, deposit hold, deductible, delivery fee. A company that answers all four clearly is a company you can trust.
Daily rate: 1–4 days, full price · 5–8 days, 8% less per day · 9–13 days, 12% less · 14–29 days, 18% less · 30 days or more, 25% less.
CDW and Full Package: 1–6 days, full price · 7–13 days, 15% less per day · 14–29 days, 25% less · 30 days or more, 35% less. Glass and tire protection keep a fixed price per day.
Example: an Economy sedan for 7 days with Standard CDW and hotel delivery comes to US$41 × 7 for the car, US$17 × 7 for the protection, free delivery, plus 18% tax: US$479 all-in, with a US$500 hold on your card. Change the class or the days above and the total updates instantly.
